Why is Enegra domiciled in Labuan?

Many jurisdictions around the world have not updated their regulations to take advantage of new technology and paradigms. In 2019 when Enegra restructured our business and proceeded to tokenize our equity into the the EGX security token, Labuan was an obvious choice for us due to its location, legal framework, and progressive approach to digital financial services.

Labuan International Business & Financial Centre (IBFC), was established in 1990 as a special economic zone of Malaysia.
Labuan IBFC is fully regulated by the Labuan Financial Services Authority (LFSA) under the purview of the Ministry of Finance Malaysia and is governed by the Labuan Financial Services & Securities Act 2010.
Labuan is a progressive jurisdiction with a proven track record of licensing fintech related entities since 2017, and is regulating digital securities under existing securities laws.
Labuan has a low 3% corporate tax rate, double tax agreements with 80+ countries, no CGT/stamp duty/sales tax/royalties tax, and no withholding tax on dividends/interest to foreign companies.

Domiciling our parent company in Labuan IBFC has given Enegra a unique opportunity to embrace and realise the potential of blockchain and related technologies, position ourselves as a leader in a multi-trillion dollar market, and accelerate our next period of growth.
